A selection of identified photographs and inscriptions preserved in the Sun’s Tailor atelier. Each records a client for whom Lee Saeng Ro made a suit.

In 1983, a full suit was made from measurements supplied by the White House, followed by a personal fitting with Lee Saeng Ro at the US Eighth Army base in Korea. The portrait bears President Reagan’s inscription and signature.

Lee first made and sent a suit to Chicago while Obama practised law. Two further suits followed: one fitted at the Grand Hyatt Seoul during his presidency and another at the Walkerhill hotel after he left office.

A first suit was sent around 2016 using measurements supplied through the US Embassy in Korea. A second was commissioned around 2017 during a stay at the Grand Hyatt Seoul, where this photograph with Lee Saeng Ro, at left, was taken.

Measuring and fitting took place at the Grand Hyatt Seoul during President Biden’s visit to Korea in May 2022, for a bespoke suit made by Lee Saeng Ro.

Lee first made a suit for Lee Myung-bak during his presidential candidacy. In 2024, after his presidency, Lee Saeng Ro was invited to his residence for measuring, fitting and delivery of another suit.
